Presentation

The role of WP1 is to report and discuss the most recent results in the scientific communities of underground experiments. Examples of the domains of interest for the WP1 are the search for neutrinoless double beta decay, the measurement of the stability of proton, the study of solar neutrinos flow, the search for the elusive particle dark matter and precision measurements of neutrino properties. All of them aim to shed light on a better understanding of our Universe and on possible physics beyond the Standard Model.

The objective of WP1 is also to facilitate the communication between theoreticians and experimentalists in the concerned scientific fields and between the different working packages of the GDR. WP1 provides the material for establishing promising new directions for the future of rare event physics (WP5), as well as for experimental and technological efforts (WP2, 3 and 4). Emphasis is given to French activities with a look to the results in related national community networks (IRN Neutrinos, IRN Terascale,GdR Cosmology) and to the directions at european and international levels which will be followed up and favored thanks to the invitations of international experts. These exchanges will make it possible to define a scientific and technological strategy for future generation projects.
