Introduction
One of the challenges of the Rare-event physics is the extraction and the identification of the interesting events, generally drowned in the background. This step needs specific and sophisticated analysis methods. Also, simulation tools are essential to predict the residual background after the selection and to validate the predictions. Finally, well-established and robust statistic methods are required to draw conclusions from the data, either a discovery or an upper limit. The aim of the WP4 is to review all the methods both for simulation and data analysis, to compare between them, to promote the knowledge exchanges and to identify the synergies between experiments.
